Haha, as soon as I wrote that I finally figured it out: I had set the page’s Template to “Landing Page” and never put it back to “Default”. Returning it to “Default” has brought back to the right column. Derrf.

This is a pretty solid theme, I’m impressed. I’ve worked in the Genesis framework for the last year but this is a pretty powerful theme and I liked the price a lot better than I like Genesis theme prices. :)

      Dear Mandi,

I am glad that you were able to solve your problem. The “Landing Page” template is designed for displaying pages without the menus, right sidebar and footer widget areas.

      Best regards

    Hi there.

I bought BrightNews premium and I’m having trouble using a static front page. When I set “Front page displays” to “Static Front Page” in the customize menu, the Right Sidebar widget completely disappears. The widget comes back when I go back to showing “Latest Posts” on the main page.

Is Static Front Page incompatible with the Right Column? I hope not, but I’ve wasted a couple hours trying to get the column to show and I’m starting to think the two just don’t work together…
